Our Manifesto

What We Believe

Good Taste Society was built on a single conviction: that the world's most meaningful experiences — a meal, a room, a conversation, a journey — deserve to be written about with the same seriousness we give to art, literature and architecture.

We are not a listings site. We are not a booking platform. We are a point of view — curated by people who have spent years learning to distinguish the genuinely excellent from the merely expensive, the truly original from the fashionably derivative.

On Curation

Everything that appears on Good Taste Society has been personally experienced by a member of our editorial team. We do not publish press releases. We do not feature properties we have not visited, chefs we have not eaten with, or people we have not spoken to at length.

I
Taste over trend

We follow quality, not the algorithm. What is genuinely excellent today will still be excellent in five years.

II
People before places

The greatest experiences are always made by exceptional individuals. We find them, we listen to them, we tell their stories.

III
Depth over volume

We would rather publish one extraordinary piece a week than ten forgettable ones a day. Less, but better.

IV
Generosity of spirit

We share what we know and celebrate what deserves to be celebrated. Good taste grows when it is given freely to those willing to receive it.

On Place

We are based in Bucharest, but our perspective is deliberately global. Romania has one of Europe's most underestimated food and hospitality cultures — a fact we intend to change. At the same time, we believe that good taste has no passport. It surfaces wherever the right combination of care, craft and vision converges.

On Excellence

Excellence is not the same as luxury. Some of the most extraordinary meals we have had cost less than thirty euros. Some of the most memorable rooms we have slept in had no concierge. What we look for is intention — the evidence that someone thought deeply about what they were making, and why.

The Founders

The People Behind
Good Taste Society

Two perspectives. One conviction. A shared belief that the world's finest experiences deserve finer writing.

Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Andreea
Gherasim

A communications strategist and writer with over a decade of experience across Romania's hospitality, F&B and lifestyle sectors. Andreea founded Good Taste Society from a conviction that Eastern Europe's extraordinary dining and hotel culture deserved a voice equal to its ambition.

"I started this because I was tired of reading about the world's best restaurants and never seeing Bucharest, or Sibiu, or the Danube Delta. We belong in the conversation."
Co-Founder & Creative Director

Name
Surname

A creative director and brand strategist whose work spans editorial, hospitality and cultural institutions across Europe. With a background in art direction and publishing, they shape the visual language and editorial identity that defines Good Taste Society.

"Good taste is not about what you have. It is about the choices you make — and the reasons behind them."

How We Got Here

Good Taste Society did not begin as a business plan. It began as a conversation — about what was missing from the way Romania's finest experiences were being communicated to the world.

2019
The Beginning

A Conversation Becomes a Publication

Good Taste Society launches as an independent editorial platform with a single conviction: that exceptional taste — in food, hotels, design and people — deserves writing of equal quality.

2020
The Society

The Interview Series Begins

We launch The Society — a long-form interview series with the chefs, hoteliers, winemakers and designers shaping contemporary taste. The first profile is with a Bucharest-born sommelier working at one of Europe's finest wine lists.

2021
Going Regional

The Good Taste Guide: Bucharest Edition

Our first city guide — fifty addresses across dining, hotels, design and culture — becomes the most-shared piece in our history, and signals what Good Taste Society will grow to become.

2022
Awards

The Good Taste Awards Launch

We create Romania's first editorially independent hospitality awards — judged by a panel of industry voices, not by public vote or commercial arrangement. Thirty properties recognised in the first edition.

Today

5,000 Members & Growing

Good Taste Society reaches 5,000 newsletter subscribers, 84 published profiles across 18 countries, and a community of readers who share a common belief: that how we live, eat and experience the world is worth taking seriously.

01
Independence

Our editorial decisions are made by our editors, not our advertisers. This is non-negotiable.

02
Curiosity

We look for what others overlook. The best story is rarely the most obvious one.

03
Precision

Every word, every recommendation, every detail — chosen with care and held to account.

04
Generosity

We share what we know. Good taste grows when it is given freely to those willing to receive it.
